After working in the City of London for PWC and NM Rothschild, he joined Sky plc where he spent a twenty-year career – serving as the youngest FTSE 100 CFO on his appointment, whilst also serving as Chairman of Just Eat plc. He was elected to Parliament in 2019 and served in senior government roles including as Economic Secretary to the Treasury – also known as ‘City Minister’ - in 2022 and 2023, Director of the No10 Policy Unit and as Minister of State for Science. He now serves as the Shadow Secretary of State for Business and Trade.
