Mark Garnier, OBE MP is a businessman, former Government Minister and one of the Conservative Party’s most experienced voices on the economy, international trade and financial markets.
Before entering Parliament, Mark spent more than two decades in international finance, working in investment banking and gaining first-hand experience of global markets, business growth and economic policy. Elected as Conservative MP for Wyre Forest in 2010, he quickly established a reputation as an independent-minded parliamentarian with a strong interest in enterprise, defence, energy and economic competitiveness.
Mark served in Government as Economic Secretary to the Treasury and City Minister, where he played a key role in championing the UK’s financial services sector during a pivotal period for Britain’s economy. He later served as Minister for Investment, helping to promote Britain as one of the world’s leading destinations for business and innovation.
Known for his wit, candour and deep understanding of politics and economics, Mark brings a rare combination of Westminster insight and real-world commercial experience. Whether discussing the future of Conservatism, Britain’s place in the world, or the challenges facing enterprise and prosperity, he is an engaging and thought-provoking speaker.
