Tickets: £25 (CF £20) to include a Kedgeree and Treacle Tart supper kindly provided by Michael and Joan Constantinidi.

Our guest speaker will be Kwasi Kwarteng, MP for Spelthorne in Surrey. Educated at Eton, where he was a scholar, and at Cambridge, where he obtained a PhD in history. He is described by The Observer as 'The rising star of politics and letters, with a glittering CV and three books out this summer, the MP is tipped for a brilliant career.

His recently published book, Ghosts of Empire, was reviewed by Andrew Roberts as 'the best general overview of the British Empire to appear in years'. He has also recently co-authored three furthur books : 'Gridlock Nation' on the causes and solutions to traffic congestion in Britain, 'Britannia Unchained' on lessons for growth and prosperity, and 'After the Coalition' on the future of Britain and a renewed Conservative Party.
