Councillor for Brompton and Hans Town Ward

Walaa was elected for Brompton and Hans Town ward in 2018. She served as Deputy Lead Member of Arts, Culture and Community Safety and was appointed Deputy Mayor in 2019. Currently she is Vice Chair of Planning and a governor at Oxford Gardens Primary School. She is passionate about protecting British pollinators, especially wild bees. She is the borough Champion of The Bee Superhighway – a programme that is designed to create a borough wide network of pollinator corridors and pathways to aid the sustainability and enrichment of biodiversity life in RBKC and the country. 

She is mother to two daughters and three dogs. She has lived in the borough since emigrating to the (UK) in 1991 and has resided in Chelsea since 2003.
