Peter Cardwell

An evening with Talk’s Peter Cardwell.

Peter Cardwell is a presenter on the Talk network, Times Radio and a political commentator on a number national and international broadcast and print outlets.  He also frequently gives speeches, chairs conferences and panels about politics and politicians.  will speak on June 10th, giving an overview of the political situation following the May local elections. What can we learn from the results and what should the Conservative Party do in response? 

Peter served as a special adviser in the UK government for three and a half years. He worked for four Cabinet ministers in four departments: the Northern Ireland Office; the Home Office; the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government; and the Ministry of Justice.

After being educated in Northern Ireland, he studied at St Hugh’s College, Oxford, before winning a Fulbright scholarship to the Columbia School of Journalism, New York.

He has worked for the BBC in London, Washington DC, New York and Belfast, as well as for Sky News, Channel 5 News, UTV and ITV’s Good Morning Britain. 

He has written two books: The Secret Life of Special Advisers and the forthcoming Political Animals about The cats and dogs of Westminster and Washington.  Political Animals will be published by Biteback in September.

In his spare time, Peter mentors a young man in the care system and spends time with his rescue cat, Jack.  He plans to take up a part-time post as a visiting lecturer at City University's School of Journalism in the academic year 2025/26.  He lives in London and Richhill, County Armagh.

This is a unique opportunity to hear from one of Britain's most insightful political voice.

She founded her interior design practice in 2015 and opened her first studio & showroom on Pimlico Road in 2022 and relocated to Chelsea in 2024. Anna has become an ambassador of Ukrainian culture and craftsmanship in London. It is a cause that is close to her heart. Not only did she design a furniture collection made in Ukraine, she also incorporated textiles, ceramics, upholstery, art, and other home accessories by Ukrainian artisans into her eclectic collection. www.annamonich.com
