Help stop the planning application for Admiral to stay open for 24-hour adult gaming

Admiral, an adult gaming centre on Earl's Court Road, has submitted a planning application to go to 24-hour trading. They are currently open till 11:30pm/midnight (on some days). Silvertime, another gaming centre nearby, is already open 24 hours (and have of course been trying to expand into the old Lloyds building) and no doubt Admiral will try to argue they should be given the same permission.

However, this is an application that we can certainly defeat at the planning stage, and we hope we can all agree that the expansion of adult gaming in Earl's Court isn't what we want to see and doesn't help develop the high street or the wider area.

We will be opposing this application at the Council, and the team are encouraging residents to write in with their own objections on the RBKC website at:

https://www.rbkc.gov.uk/planningsearch/cases/PP/25/04421

Every objection counts! Please use some of these points when writing in—it doesn't need to be long:

  • Wrong location: A 24/7 gambling venue is not a good fit for this part of Earl's Court Road, near homes, hotels, small shops and indeed addiction recovery hostels just a short walk away.

  • No local benefit: A 24-hour adult gaming centre doesn't serve residents and may deter better uses.

  • Sets a precedent: Dropping the original planning restrictions (there for a reason...) could encourage more similar 24/7 venues.

  • Goes against efforts to improve the area: We want a safer high street with a good mix of day and night-time uses—not round-the-clock gambling for vulnerable adults living in the area.

The consultation is open until 22 August.

Thanks for your support!
